Graeme has taught classical violin, viola, and Celtic fiddling for over a decade to children and adults alike. She joined the Nantucket Community Music Center (NCMC) Faculty in 2018, upon returning to Nantucket from graduate studies in Iceland.
Having gotten her start as a violinist, her teachers, Laura Bossert, Yoram Youngerman, and Jonathan Bagg, kindled in her a great love for viola and chamber music. While studying at Wellesley College, Graeme pursued these passions in viola performance and chamber music studies, earning the college’s Billings Performance Award for outstanding talent and ability in music performance and contributions to the community through music.
Spending formative childhood time in Nova Scotia, Graeme grew up listening and playing Cape Breton/Celtic fiddle. She shares her love of this music as both a performer and teacher, and her weekly Celtic Sessions at the NCMC seek to build community through this enrapturing music.
When not playing music or working as the Town of Nantucket’s Recycling/Solid Waste Coordinator, Graeme enjoys being in nature, playing with her godchildren, and exploring connections between science and the arts.
